So.... Why is the truck named Stewart?

We named our mobile recording truck #1 after a friend of ours, Stewart Shurtliff. Stewart was a long time audio engineer for many sports broadcast events. It’s safe to say he practically wrote the book on how audio is captured in most sports events. One of his greatest known events took place In 198s, stewart was mixing the olympics in Atlanta Ga. After coercing a security guard to let him sneak up and stick a microphone in the olympic torch, he captured the actual sound of the torch as it was lit (by flaming Arrow) and gave him the honor of being the first person to capture and broadcast live the sound of the lighting of the olympic torch. This also won him his first Emmy award!

I’m budget Friendly

Our Mobile recording trucks are useful in that they give you the ability to bring a professional recording studio control room to ANY environment.  Whether your looking to record a live show or set up in a unique place to record an album, we provide you that opportunity.  Listed below is a compact list of what we provide with the truck, but we are not limited to that list.  If there is equipment that you would like to use and we do not have it, we will be happy to rent it and implement it into the truck.

How do you interface for a live show:

Our mobile truck has a custom built 3 way split with Jensen transformers and Mogami cabling between the truck and FOH. This helps ensure pristine audio quality along with separation between the 2 environments so both can function without effecting the other.

What’s up with that old tape machine?

One way we differ from most recording trucks is the amount of “vintage” gear we use.  We can multitrack up to 24 tracks on 2” MCI tape Machine for a live event or album, or slam some drum tracks on our 2” 16 track MCI for the ultimate in “beefy tone!” If you add to that all the compressors, spring verbs and tape delays, it can become a party real fast!

What do you typically use for live shows?

We run industry standard PROTOOLS and RADAR nyquist  for 48 I/O of Quality audio conversion.  We also run a redundant set of machines to ASURE that your show is captured!
